When looking for the perfect place to live outdoor amenities is important for many people. Severn has a number of outdoor locations where you can hit some trails, relax on the beach, or play sports.
Sports Fields – If your looking for a sports field to rent out for a practice or event Severn allows this. You can go to their city website and follow the links to apply for your permits. The sports fileds that are available are located at the Coldwater Fairgrounds and the Washago Centennial Park.
Parks – there are a number of public parks that can be enjoyed. Below is a map of the Township of Severn Public Parks. Use this map to check out the closest parks near you.
The list of parks include;
- Ardtrea Park – 2375 Couchichnog Avenue – here you can enjoy picnic tabes, park benches and playgrounds
- Bass Lake Woodlands Park – 1956 Pine Aveenue – at this park you can enjoy picnic tabes, park benches and playgrounds. There are also public washrooms, beach volleyball court, outdoor rink and basketball court. Severn is always looking for volunteers for the outdoor rink, if your interested you can sign up on the Severn Township website.
- Coldwater Fairgrounds – 11 Michael Anne Drive – here you can enjoy picnic tabes, park benches and playgrounds. There is also washrooms, baseball diamond, pavilion, walking trails, basketball court, skate park, water fountain.
- Ian Crichton Memorial Park – 2055 Birkeshire Woods Lane – this park includes picnic tabes, park benches and playground, pavilion, walking trails.
- Marchmont Community Park – 2049 Avery Lane – at this park you have washrooms, picnic tables, park benches, playground, baseball diamond, soccer pitch, dog park, pavilion, outdoor rink and basketball court.
- Mill Street Parkette – Mill St and Coldwater Rd – here you will find park benches.
- Shoreview Park – 3183 Shoreview Drive – here you will find park benches.
- Timberland Creek Park – at this park you have washrooms, picnic tables, park benches, playground, baseball diamond, soccer pitch, pavilion, outdoor fitness.
- Village Green Parkette – 3 River St – here you will find park benches.
- Washago Centennial Park – at this park you have washrooms, picnic tables, park benches, playground, baseball diamond, soccer pitch, dog park, beach, pavilion, outdoor fitness, walking trails and boat launch ramp.
Beaches – if the beach is your thing, check out Washago Centennial Park. At this park visitors can relax and when the weather permits enjoy the beach and swimming. If your ever worried about water quality, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit conducts water sampling and testing, the results can be found on their website.
